"TAPASYA" - pray for a soul Jayashree Bandi
Hailing from a family of art lovers, it was just natural that Jayashree showed inclination towards Bharathanatyam since she was five. She was introduced into the art by her mother, Smt. Lakshmi and her aunt, Smt. Vijayalakshmi, both of whom had graduated in Bharathanatyam and Carnatic Music from the University of Madras. From her childhood, the fast footwork always remained her favorite in every lesson. Although she could not pursue the course further while in India, Jayashree continued to show her enthusiasm towards Bharathanatyam by participating in various cultural programs and festivities. It was to her delight that she was able to find her guru Smt. Preeti Vinayak Shah in 2006, who revived her fascination towards this captivating form of dance. Since then, under her guru's flawless and clear guidance Jayashree has learned to love this art form and pursue dance and life with sincere, respectful and devoted attitude. Jayashree graduated with a Masters in Computer Science from the Syracuse University. She has since been the managing member of Infocus Tech, a global business and technology consulting firm in Atlanta and also consults for various manufacturing and retail clients around the United States. A few words from Jayashree: "I joined the Narasimha Academy at an age which I wonder why, seemed very questionable to a lot of my friends. Through these years, I have learnt though that passion has no boundaries, and if you have the determination and dedication, nothing is ever late. "Preeti is an excellent dancer and a phenomenal teacher. She skillfully guides you through the mythological fable in every dance piece that you not only learn but also understand how the nrityas and the abhinayas make the perfect narration. I just know that I could not have found a better teacher who would rekindle my passion for dance and help me gain such a deeper appreciation for our rich culture!" |
